Some specific examples…

Bad lawyering. Two good lawyers can settle a case over the telephone. Two bad lawyers couldn’t settle a case with a baseball bat.

“Enclosed please find….” C’mon. It’s a #10 envelope. Do I really have to organize a search party? How about “Enclosed is….”

“Prior to….” “Before” is a perfectly good English word. Use it.
